All tutors have successfully cleared a district-issued background and criminal history check prior to receiving a tutor assignment and completed state-mandated reporter training. Additionally, tutors are required to attend an in-person, interactive orientation session to overview tutoring materials approved by the CCSD office, session guidelines, age-specific tips for engagement and learning, required dress code, and communication rules.

Equal Education for Athens is an official 2023 community partner with Clarke County School District. The organization is constantly working to expand its direct partnership with public and private schools within the district, in order to ensure that every child receives equitable access to the education they deserve!
